Cleaning Care
Light Cleaning:
For small stains, such as coffee spills, small dirt, pet stains.
Wet the area of the fleece with cold water and add a diluted amount of detergent. Woolite is a great brand. Rub sides of stained fleece together gently until soil is out. Lay flat to dry. Do not machine dry!
If washing fur side, ok to rub together like with fleece. Be more gentle with the fur to keep the luster of the fine fur softness. Air dry - do not use a hair dryer.
Heavy Cleaning:
I only advise this method to remove bad soils, cigarette smells and other extreme grit.
Gently do the steps mentioned above for light cleaning to get most noticeable stains out. After that, handwash the entire blanket, throw or spirit hood with a small amount of Woolite detergent, or add detergent as needed to remove the smells. Pet stains may need special detergent.
You can put in washing machine on COLD & DELICATE for a short cleaning cycle.
ONLY AIR DRY. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER - this will ruin your faux fur side. Most ideal season to clean is warmer, sunny months when you can lay flat to dry in the sunshine.
Dry Cleaning:
If you want to be safest, take to your local dry cleaners. They are typically experts on all materials and can provide the best method of cleaning for difficult stains, pet soils, and cigarette smells that may permeate the fur.
Remind them to not machine dry the fur blanket / hood.
